I have always been a ‘designer’ at heart.
A ‘designer’ & ‘organizer’. It’s in my soul.
I can remember from day one, moving small mountains of sand around. Yes, I’m talking sandbox here. There I was, creating fictional ‘rooms’ with beds, dressers and cut out openings for windows. Adding flower petals for ‘color & design’, and grass as carpet. The world was my oyster…
I was creating. I was organizing.
You see, it all had to do with imagination. As far as I was concerned, everything was there for the taking, and all I had to do was ‘create’ and ‘organize’. And that was the fun part, the one that never left me.
That’s who I am. I love to ‘create’. Take something from nothing and if I may so…‘give it life’. Make it beautiful, give it a personality. Make it vibrate and give it a name. Make it so, so that it makes you feel good…
Take something that’s broken and bring it back to its former beauty. Take something that is only a thought, and create a moment of wonder, a deep breath of contentment. Take a mess, and ‘create’ control.
That’s where the challenge is. And from day one, this is what I’ve attempted and…still trying to master. Designing. Creating. Organizing. There’s a process in that thinking, that touches your soul and lets it sing pearls of colors and realization.
After I moved on from my ‘sandbox period’, I then discovered colors, colors, and space. Space as in organizing, structuring, fixing…
My world changed. I was now ‘seeing’ sundowns and the color of leaves in fall for the first time. The different shades of white in winter. My mother’s silky brown hair in summer and my aunt’s magical garden. My world was exploding with options and a firm desire to keep on learning.
I wanted to create…
And yes, since becoming an Interior Designer was considered a big No-No by my family. I was kindly pushed into finding something else. Something called a ‘real’ job. Which in time meant me moving on to Finance, but that’s another story.
So, the second option? How about sewing? Yes. Sewing. As in threat, material & needles.
Why not use my passion for designing and organizing through the creation of clothing. Take the time to understand how material drapes and what the different cuts are. Learn to play with the material thickness and view colors under the different lights. Create my own patterns from scratch…Re-arrange and fix! Master the art of ‘hand sewing’.
So off I went and enrolled in a four year Designing/Sewing classes. Four glorious years of learning how to ‘create’ from scratch…to ‘rearrange’ and to beautify. Finally, I had my own sandbox! I had a firm grasp on the world of designing. I now understood how the pieces fit together.
There was now a ‘way’ to funnel my creativity. To make it real.
That’s until I discovered the beauty in creating websites…
Now, for the ‘Official Bio’
